Free Water Analysis
WaterPro's Free Basic Water Test Includes:
Hardness: This test measures the amount of "hard" minerals such as calcium and manganese in water. Hard water minerals cause scale build up in
pipes and fixtures, fittings, valves, and appliances. It also causes spotting on dishes and glass and causes soap to curd (inhibits lathering and
rinsing ability). Mineral build up causes increased energy costs and shortens the life of any appliance using hot water.
Iron: This test measures the total amount of all types of iron in water. Readings above 0.3 causes red-brown staining on fixtures, dishes,
laundry and sometimes hair. It usually darkens coffee, tea, and other beverages.
pH: 6.9-7.5 is a normal pH range. The pH test measures acidity vs. alkalinity and helps determine what filter will work best. Low pH may cause
corrosion. Above 8.0 indicates elevated alkalinity and may cause an unpleasant taste.
Total Dissolved Solids: This test indicates the amount of solids dissolved in water. A lower TDS will improve taste and a higher TDS will
descrease water palatability. Good bottled water has a TDS around 10ppm.
How to have your water tested:
1. Get us a water sample! You may drop by our store with a sample or mail one in. Depending on your location we may be able to come by and test your
water on site. We can then discuss what your treatment options are.
2. Let us know if you have any chlorine added to your water, or if you are dealing with any odors. Sometimes we are not able to pick up on subtle odors
in water samples, so if your water smells like sulfur or has a general "funk" let us know.
3. Be sure to include your name and contact information if you mail the sample in. All mailed samples may be sent to:
WaterPro
P.O. Box 875306

Please mark all sample packages as "SAMPLES"
Once we have your sample tested, we'll be able to recommend treatment. We'll take the data from your sample, along with how much water usage your home
has to develop a system that works well, and is cost effective.
